One day, he got a job advert at Odeon Cinema near Pastor Pius Muiru Chutrch Nairobi. It was a promising job. He took the contact and came with it at home. On showing me the job description and requirements, he was well qualified. He is trained in hospitality.

Now, I asked him to call the number and put the conversation on loudspeaker. I heard all their conversation and it was promising. The woman who was speaking to him assured that she will give him a job.

I heard her ask my son if he can get sh 60,000 so that the interview exercise can just be for formality. I was happy because the job was worth salary sh 85,000 per month. The money would be gained back in a single month. I gave my son the cash next morning as he headed for the interview in the CBD.

Just after three hours, he called me saying he had given the money and the interview had gone on so well. He had been assured of favoritism from the lady; so he was sure and he was to report on duty in three days’ time.

We waited and days ran into weeks before one month collapsed. I had to move so fast and find out why. Her phone was not going through either.

When my son inquired with the rest of the candidates who had attended the same interview, they had the same story. They had been conned between sh 20,000 and sh 60,000. My son was in the category of sh 60,000.

I couldn’t wait any more minute and, therefore, I called my African doctor called Dr. Mugwenu and gave him the story. Mugwenu quickly asked me to give him the name of the scammer and I send. Gladys!
