Once I finished my last paper of the form four exams I went home head high feeling as if I was the first person to do the form four exams. I am Lemashon from Kajiado county.So when I went home I was really excited about the whole thing little did I know life out there was really tough. One needed to do odd jobs to survive. I could see my friends going to work in site specifically the construction industry ‘mjengo’ so as to survive. The could even buy clothes and go by the latest fashion trends in town. Unfortunately, here I was doing nothing hoping for brighter days ahead. I did not want to tire myself out. All I hope for is easy money that came without sweating. I thought of what I could do to get faster money without sweating.

So I met my friend Carlos and talked to him. I asked him how we could make faster money without sweating. He told me he knew a way and asked to meet him at the local market at around 8.30 pm that evening. I was excited. I rushed home took a cold shower changed my clothes and wore a really fine look. I put on a really nice cologne. I was really excited about this new adventure and had really high hopes. I could see myself rich than ever. “I becoming a new Bill Gates in town soon!!!”, I shouted joyfully
I met him at the said place that evening. I asked him what the work was.I thought it was a white color job.He explained that one main target was ladies who help smart phones on their hands or on calls.Out work was to snatch the phones and ran away at a high speed .At first I was really terrified but after seeing Carlos snatch a phone and flee so easily I felt that it much easier.So I decided to join him. This new way of making myself easy and cheaper money continued every day. Sooner than later I was a pro and everyone new me. Soon I was in a gang of five. We could do theists together. We even graduate from snatching phones to raiding bungalows and stealing expensive materials. Honestly I was going the wrong way but at the moment I did not realize it. I felt that I was living the best life I could. I had purchased expensive clothes, jewelry, wrist watches and even moved out of my mother’s place and rented my own house.

My parents used to question my ways of earning money but I could not tell them. At times I risked being stoned by a mob when caught. One day while I was in ‘work’ I snatched a phone and ran away. Unfortunately, I was caught. The lot was so furious wanted to stone me but the owner of the phone told them to chill. “We can save this boy from this world of theft.”, she said. She them contacted a person in her phone. The person agreed to help. Later I came to notice that the person on the phone was Dr Mugwenu.
